Carevent® is a valve for urinary tract catheters which supports micturition in a natural rhythm.
A permanent discharge, for example during the night for undisturbed sleep, is possible but must not be set permanently.
The bladder musculature thus continues to be trained and supported.
Supported by coloured controls, the CareVent® catheter valve is easy to operate, including with one hand. Due to its light weight it is hardly noticeable and is therefore highly comfortable to wear. The special design prevents urine leakage. This guarantees hygienic use and reduces the risk of infection.
Natural bladder discharge
To empty the bladder the front part of the CareVent® must be held over the toilet bowl or in another suitable container and the slider pulled towards the catheter. When the bladder has been emptied the CareVent closes automatically as soon as the slider is released.
Night time use:
In order to spare the patient nightly visits to the toilet, the valve can be attached to a urinal bag with the soft connection tube provided. The soft connection tube is pushed on to the front part of the valve and on to the conical shoulder of the urinal bag. The slider is pulled back and the retaining ring twisted 90 – 180 degrees. The valve remains open and the urine flows into the bag. Care should be taken that the tube does not kink and block the urinal flow.
In the morning the valve is first closed by turning back the releasing ring until the slider clicks back into place in its original position. The soft connection tube can then be removed from the valve.
Cleaning the valve:
The CareVent® should be cleaned as required. For this it must be pulled off the catheter. The catheter must be held firmly so that it is not pulled out of the bladder. Flush the open CareVent® (as for night use) with clear water.
